What is Domestic Abuse?

Domestic abuse is any incident or pattern of controlling, coercive, threatening, degrading, or violent behaviour between people who are personally connected.

Domestic abuse can include:

  • Coercive and controlling behaviour
  • Sexual abuse
  • Financial or economic abuse

  • Stalking and harassment
  • Honour-based abuse and forced marriage
